Applications

For micro, ultra or nano filtration processes a backwashing at certain times is necessary to clean the membrane surface. At the backwashing a portion of already produced permeate respectively filtrate is pressed from the permeate space of a membrane into the retentate space of the membrane. For that purpose compressed air is usually used. During backwashing the membrane separation process is interrupted.

In the permeate flow, DTE back-impulse modules generate electronic triggered pressure impulses. This way existing top layers or coatings on the membrane surface can be removed. Characteristic of that kind of cleaning devices is that control gas or air does not come in contact with the permeate or retentate medium.

Advantages:

  • In the case of separation of micro organism from in the rule aqueous solutions a bacteriological contamination by permeate is practically not possible.
  • Foam formation by treatment of tenside containing solutions can be practically excluded.
  • By using of physiological harmless materials this product is interesting for medical-, pharmaceutical or biotechnological applications.
  • In combination with a membrane or piston pump the RIP-module can be used as pulsation damper.
